ATHENS COURT CLEARS SWISS BANKER OF MONEY LAUNDERING CHARGES

Following a multi-month trial hearing, the Court of Appeal Athens sitting as a first instance court returned on 16 July 2025 an acquittal verdict for a former Swiss private banker on charges of aiding and abetting to money laundering in connection with an alleged bribery scheme involving high-ranking officers of the Hellenic Air Force and intermediaries in connection with the purchase of military helicopters. The Court also acquitted the co-defendants on prescription grounds.
